The Gonstead technique is a method of chiropractic care that is unparalleled in its specificity. A Gonstead chiropractor will take the time to do a thorough assessment using a combination of spinal examination, x-ray analysis (when required) and your medical history to find which vertebra (spinal segment) is causing the problems and then apply a specific adjustment to that specific segment in order to address the cause of the problem. The aim of the adjustment is to increase function, restore motion and reduce pain and possible associated nerve pressure. X-rays are sometimes required in order to aid in your assessment. The Gonstead method is gentle, safe and effective. It is suitable for the whole family.
At Health Innervation, we pride ourselves on being thorough. For the initial consultation we allow 1 hour. This gives us time to take a full history and go through a series of tests to understand any issues that may predispose you to your presenting condition and ascertain what the cause of your problem might be. This allows us to tailor YOUR care to suit YOUR condition. If it is safe to do so, you will be adjusted on your first visit.
For any follow up visits, we allow 20-30 minutes. This allows us time to assess you and to give the necessary adjustments and care. We take the time to listen to you and give a targeted approach to your treatment.
You do not need a referral to see a chiropractor. Your chiropractor may deem it beneficial to have some x-rays or imaging taken to have a better look at your spine or rule out other conditions. If these are required we will write you a referral.
Chiropractors help to relieve pain associated with back pain, neck pain, headaches, sciatica and a range of other musculoskeletal conditions. It takes a minimum of 5 years at University to become a qualified chiropractor, with particular focus on human anatomy and the safe application of chiropractic adjustments. Of all allied health professionals, chiropractors are the most adept at caring for spinal aches and pains.
